    I Am Me

Everyone deserves to be accepted for who they are. I wrote this song particularly for women, feeling they are often not accepted, acknowledged and honoured for who they are and the many diverse and wonderful things they do to make our lives, families, community and culture strong. The particular woman I wrote this for is a young woman who is proclaiming her empowerment. She is a character in my musical play Biosphere Nine.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, percussion · Kathryn Santospirito — backing vocals

    Terminator Girl

The terminator girl is an empowered young woman who stridently expresses herself. Her impact on those young males who witness her daunting power is cosmic. This song is from my musical play Biosphere Nine.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion

    Crazy

This song humorously captures how love can toy with the sensibilities.

    I Want You

That moment when someone catches your eye and heart simultaneously is one of the most extraordinary experiences we can have. And yet it can be fraught by uncertainties.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion

    Loving Him Is So Hard

I wrote this song for my son when I was working on a pearl lugger off the Eighty Mile Beach in northern Australia. I was a long way from him and would miss him dearly. This song is putting words and music to the despair of separation. It is included in my musical play Savannah.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion, double bass

    Oh Yeah

My childhood on a farm is embodied in these lyrics. The chorus overlays the insignificance a child can sometimes feel, particularly in previous times when a child was meant to be seen and not heard, apparently. It is from my musical play Farm.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion, double bass

    Find That Love

The search for love that has gone astray can be like a quest for a lost pearl.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion · Will Madden — trumpet

    Bush Honey

A raw and bawdy blues song celebrating love in the Australian outback. This song is from my musical play Savannah.

    Doctor of Desire

This song is from my novel and musical play Donkey Dundee, sung by a rabid physician. It also appears in Biosphere Nine voicing another dodgy doctor who ignites the ‘flames of passion’ to administer his prescription of desire.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion

    We Will Be One

Lovers who come from different nationalities, religions and cultures sometimes face impediments of prejudice. Fortunately times are changing, but in bygone days such cross cultural relationships were widely frowned upon and even repressed by laws. This song is from my musical play Pearl.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion

    It's My Business

Fed up with big business and the banks taking us down, ripping us off, and getting away with it? This tongue in cheek ode to their unscrupulous ways is portrayed as a street jazz song for the corrupted business/political type. It was written for a head of government to sing with his public servant chorus in my musical Walmadan.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion, double bass · Kathryn Santospirito — backing vocals · Will Madden — trumpet · Charles Marshall — trombone

    Crazy (Acoustic)

Love chemistry can have mind altering effects. A bit of a Latin feel is brought out in the acoustic version.

Russell Roberts — vocals, ukulele, percussion · Jack Crawford — guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals, percussion, double bass

    The Sky Is Wide

A song for the country; the Kimberley region in north-west Australia. It's also a love song. This song is from my musical play Savannah.
