I write songs about subjects and issues that are important to me. I have recorded songs about suicide prevention, songs celebrating women’s empowerment, songs about environmental issues, drug abuse, prison welfare, politics, corporate corruption, and indigenous rights. The work I am currently recording explores some of these issues further, along with domestic violence and homelessness. I also write about love, my children, and the many things I perceive to be wonderful in life. I endeavour to give these topics a voice in order to help bring more awareness to them. The costs of recording music and creating music videos to enable this vital means of communication are high, while the financial returns are minimal.
